Girl's Room Make Over To Come :)

My girls Stephanie(18) and Melanie(15) have been sharing this room for a while and it was time for a make over. The walls are white with a dark navy blue trim. Very masculine.

We are using the left over paint from my sewing/guest room make over. Here is Tristan,  hard at work helping with the painting.

We hope to have this room done by the end of this weekend :)
I will post new room pictures soon.

Spelt /Oatmeal Pancakes ala LilyBeth

Today we made spelt oatmeal pancakes. It is the same recipe I posted a while back on oatmeal pancakes. We just took out the wheat flour and used spelt flour instead.

I was not sure if the pancakes would come out good. But it was a success. Good looking pancakes and a great taste too.

LilyBeth had so much fun helping in the kitchen. She did a great job :)

No Wheat/Gluten and No Yeast!!!!!

This has been a break through for my Husband. He can not have wheat, gluten, or yeast, and since I have been making this spelt sour dough bread(successfully)  he has been singing praises. Oh, to live without bread was a frightening  thought for him.
This dough is so easy to handle.

in the basket it goes for 1 1/2 hours to rise.

Here is just a different shape

They taste just as good as they look, really!

Reversible Iron Board Cover For A Friend

My friend Tonya asked me if I would like to barter with her . She needed an iron board cover and she had something that I might like. I think bartering is wonderful, and many times a money saver for both party's.
I hope she will like this cover. I made it reversible, so that she can change the look once in a while.
She said "make it cheery, I have to look at it every day." She told me she irons every day for 15 min. What a great idea!

The great part about this cover is that you can just toss it into the wash and place it back onto the iron board and re- tie it.

Planting Some Beautiful Flowers With My Little Ones

My husband took us out for a treat. We went to our favorite nursery "Green Acres". LilyBeth and Tristan walked through the large property and picked out flower plants they liked.
They placed them in the little red wagons that the nursery provides. As we payed for them we said goodbye to the laughing birds and the two large yeller dogs.

We had so much fun planting them.

Elderberry Syrup A Natural Way To Help Your Body

Here's a wonderful, amazing remedy that I have made as part of our family's ongoing health plan.
Just six simple ingredients for this "wonder food" that will keep you healthy or quickly cure you when you're sick. I'm so thankful to John Gallagher from MountainRoseHerbs.com for sharing this recipe.
It's available on Youtube at this link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOYzWyFGkqM

1/2 cup of Elderberry (I buy them at our local health food store)
1 cinnamon stick
1 Tablespoon of fresh ginger root (local fruit stand or any supermarket)
5 whole cloves
2 cups of water
1 cup of honey

Place the cinnamon stick, five cloves and 1 Tablespoon of peeled and cut ginger with 2 cups of water in a pot and bring to a boil.
Turn down the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
Strain and discharge the ginger, cloves and cinnamon stick. Add the honey and stir. Pour into a glass jar. Let cool, seal with a lid and refrigerate.
.

Another great website for more information about Elderberrys and other herbs is http://www.herbwisdom.com/herb-elderberry.html

My husband swears by this syrup.  He calls it Elderberry Wine :)  Three times in the past 6 months he's come down with a very nasty sinus infection, which then travels into his chest.  The type in years past where he required antibiotics to get over it.  This year, each time he got sick, he took a shot of Elderberry syrup about every two-three hours until this little bottle was empty.  Within a day or two he was all better.  No antibiotics needed!  Hooray!
Another success story is LilyBeth 4 years old.  On Sunday she started with the sniffling, sneezing, runny nose, cough, etc.  We gave her several teaspoons throughout the day on Monday and today she has no symptoms.  Amazing!!!
Try this all natural herbal remedy.  You won't regret it.  And it taste so sweet, thats why my little ones and older ones like it so much :)

His and Her Room

This is Tristan and LilyBeth's bedroom make over. The Room is very small 10 x12 feet. Stephanie(18) and Melanie(15) used this bunk bed when they where Tristan and LilyBeth ages, seven and four.
My Stan and I alway felt is was important that our children shared a room with another sibling. It teaches them to get along with someone else, teaches them to share and to be more considerate of others. After all, one day the will have to share a room with other roommates and probable marry someone very different in personalty,  then they are.  It was easy when we first had two boys and then two girls, but now we have one of each. So this room was a little challenge in the area of decor since LilyBeth likes pink, anything pink and Tristan is a true boy who likes dragons, cars and superheros.
Here is what we came up with. His and her space. Tristan sleeps "up stairs."
A couple of years back a very nice older lady taught me how to make these beautiful quilts.
This is his corner with his dresser and Hulk superhero picture. His fire spitting dragon is so cool, but LilyBeth was scarred of it, so we hung it behind the dresser where she could not see him from her bed.

Here is Tristan's favorite bear; he named him "Share Bear."  :)

This is LilyBeth's bed.  She sleeps "down stairs" :) along with her favorite doll, Baby Anna. She goes where ever Lily goes.

The lamp came from a dear sweet friend.  Thank you Cherilee!  And it fit's perfect on her dresser. I found this cute little dresser at a thrift store and it is perfect for her needs.

The dresser is made for small children and Lily can get to her clothes all by herself.
This beautiful handmade embroidery came from a yard sale for just one dollar.
His and her Teddy bears. :)
 Her corner.

This is the view when you enter the room.
